Hollis is excited to partner with Kirby Morgan Dive Systems, Inc, the pre-eminent designer of commercial and military diving systems, to bring you the MOD-1 Full Face Mask with Scuba Pod. This pairing will expand possibilities of diving safety, reliability and versatility. The Scuba Pod can be used with most standard regulators.
The innovative design of the Kirby Morgan MOD-1 design incorporates a hook and latch system on opposing sides, which allows for rapid and very positive sealing and removal of the Pod from the mask both above and below the water. The Scuba Pod attachment allows divers to easily switch gas, buddy breathe and purge the mask. A tilt to purge valve is located below the demand regulator on the outside of the Pod for effortless dewatering. Scuba Pods with demand regulators can also be configured for DECO stations and safe seconds.

I bought the Kirby Morgan M-48 FFM with the MOD I Scuba POD. It seems to work very well. I am using the Sherwood “new” Blizzard regulator second stage, which works perfectly. I had tried installing my old Sherwood Magnum Blizzard second stage, but it would not pass the 25-lbs safety test; it would pull free of the POD during the safety test. The “new” Blizzard has a thicker lip and held tight. Be sure to read the owner’s manual: One klick of the POD acts like an SAV (Surface Air Valve) at the surface. And two klicks makes it watertight for diving.
